OUR FOUNDER
Ballet has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. In my twenties, before I got married and started a family, I loved taking evening classes at The London Contemporary Dance School whenever I could.
Life then took me in many different directions. I trained as a nurse before moving into television, where I worked as a producer on programmes including The Word and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? It was during this time, while working with Bob Geldof to launch a music station in Poland, that I met my husband. We moved to France, had our two sons, and eventually returned to the UK. As family life grew busier, dancing naturally took a back seat.
I returned to ballet at the age of 46, just a year before my daughter was born, and completely fell in love with it all over again. Ballet doesn't always come easily to me - I’m dyslexic, so remembering combinations can be a challenge - but that's part of what I love about it. The music, the movement, the artistry, the discipline, and the emotions that ballet conveys.
Like so many adult dancers, I found it difficult to balance classes with family life and running my businesses. Whenever I had the chance, I'd book onto intensive ballet weekends and retreats. They became something I genuinely looked forward to - a chance to learn, be inspired, and spend time with people who shared the same passion.
Before Covid, there were very few opportunities like this for adult dancers, so in 2022 I decided to create the kind of retreats I had always wanted to attend. And that's how Let's Dance was born.
What started with a handful of retreats in my ballet studio in Weybourne, North Norfolk, has grown into something truly special. From welcoming an incredible team of guest teachers to hosting destination retreats in Spain, it's been wonderful to build a community of adult dancers who simply love to dance.
Today, I'm delighted to host regular ballet retreats in both Norfolk and Spain, bringing together exceptional teachers, beautiful locations, and welcoming dancers from across the UK and beyond. I can't wait to welcome you to one soon.
