An intimate weekend of classical ballet for Beginners and improvers, taught by Bennet Gartside

This November we’ll be back at The Old Stables, in Weybourne, North Norfolk hosting a perfect long weekend of ballet. Over the course of 3 days you will be taught by the wonderful Bennet Gartside, The Royal Ballet’s Principal Character Artist.
Our exclusive ballet retreats have no more than 8 participants, which means that everyone benefits from the very close attention and expert tuition of our expert ballet professionals.

What to Expect: If you are familiar with barre work and feel comfortable with basics, this retreat is for you. We’ll build on your foundation and refine technique by working on simple combinations and explore more expressive movement in the centre. These retreats are designed to boost your confidence while improving your technique and artistry.

The retreat includes two lunches and one dinner on Saturday evening. A delicious vegetarian lunch will be served in the beautiful dining room at the Old Stables, adjacent to the studios.

The Venue
The retreat will take place at the Old Stables in Webourne, a pretty village in North Norfolk. You will be surrounded by spectacular views of the countryside, helping you to focus and clear your head. Easily reachable, the studio can be accessed by car or train from London Liverpool Street to Sheringham, via Norwich.
The format
Each morning will begin in the studio with a ballet warm-up, followed by a class taught by the fabulous Bennet Gartside from the Royal Ballet.
We will take a break for a nutritious, freshly prepared vegetarian lunch, followed by the afternoon session.

MEET THE PROFESSIONALS
your teacher: bennet gartside
Bennet is a Principal Character Artist at The Royal Ballet, where he has performed since 1995.
His wide variety of roles have included Crown Prince Rudolf in Mayerling, Leontes in The Winter’s Tale, Dr Coppelius in Coppélia, Tybalt in Romeo & Juliet, Hilarion in Giselle and Widow Simone in La Fille Ma Gardee.
He is the Director of Everybody Ballet, running successful adult ballet classes at the Royal Opera House and regularly teaches and hosts one day workshops in London.
Bennet is also a filmmaker and maintains The Royal Ballet’s video archive. We are delighted to work with Bennet at our intimate retreats in Norfolk. His classes are always fun and informative.
